The SJSU X City of San Jose brief instructed my team and I to create a campaign to bring light to the benefits of rent stabilization and the resources the city of San Jose offers regarding rent stabilization.
My team and I focused on educating the public on rent stabilization while directing them to the City of San Jose website. During our research phase, we found that the majority of people in San Jose share a lack of knowledge on rent stabilization. With this in mind, I came up with the tagline "Do your homework".
The graphic I utilized depicts a house slowly being submerged below aggressive waves. This plays into the headline I chose, "Stay Afloat". I took common phrases like "I'm trying to keep my head above water" and "We're just trying to stay afloat" and translated them into an appropriate graphic for rent stabilization.
I generated a QR code that individuals can simply scan and it will take them to the City of San Jose's rent stabilization page, making it easier for the public to educate themselves on what rent stabilization is and how it can benefit them.

It was important for my team and I to include transcreations. In a city like San Jose with a diverse population, it Is important to include graphics that reach a large portion of the public. With that being said, we translated our graphics into Chinese (traditional), Japanese, and Spanish.
